The challenge of this project was to design a publication that explored typography, layout, grids, and imagery in a way that created both clarity and visual impact. while also establishing a unique identity that felt intentional and cohesive. The goal was to design a magazine that could stand on its own, with a strong concept that communicated to a clear audience.
Stratus, a magazine centered on outdoor sports that are accessible to anyone, regardless of skill level. The spring issue highlights activities that capture the energy of the season, with features designed to encourage readers to embrace adventure in approachable ways. The masthead and cover were designed with bold, clean typography that reflects the openness of the outdoors, while the grid system provides structure and rhythm across the spreads. To strengthen the identity, I also created an original ad tailored to the magazine’s audience—outdoorsy, adventurous readers who are motivated by exploration and movement.
